Ukhrul/Imphal, October 18, 2026: Athletes trained under the guidance of Robert L. Meitei, proprietor of Royal Gymnasium, Ukhrul, delivered notable performances at the 16th Mr. Kangleipak Bodybuilding Championship 2026, held at YWC Ground, Patsoi, on Sunday.
Organised by the Manipur Amateur Body Builders Association (MABBA) in association with the Late Ningthemcha Ningol Chongtham Ongbi Ima Sanatombi Devi Memorial Trust, the championship featured competitors across various bodybuilding and physique categories.
Among the athletes representing the gym, Phila Yangya of Paorei village emerged as a standout performer, winning the Champion of Champions title in the Women’s Model Physique category. She also secured second place in the Open Women’s Bodybuilding category.
Thuiling Muivah secured second place in Women’s Model Physique and fifth place in Open Women’s Bodybuilding, while Thashim Pheirei finished fourth in both Women’s Model Physique and Open Women’s Bodybuilding.
In the men’s categories, M. Pihimas secured fifth place in the Sub-Junior Short Class Men’s Bodybuilding category, while Naorithem Khapudang finished fifth in the Sub-Junior Medium Class Men’s Bodybuilding category. Lungreishim Kasar also secured fifth place in the Junior Bodybuilding Tall Group category.
In the Senior Men’s Bodybuilding Tall category, Mishap Khapai secured fourth place, while Reyung finished fifth.
The achievements reflect the athletes’ dedication, discipline and hard work, alongside the guidance and training provided by Robert L. Meitei at Royal Gymnasium, Ukhrul.
Their performances have brought recognition to the gym and highlighted the growing participation of Ukhrul-based athletes in bodybuilding and physique competitions across Manipur.
