Through this initiative, CNEDPR seeks to strengthen the culture of research and policy engagement in Northeast India by providing an academic platform for examining the lived realities, concerns and aspirations of communities across the region. The initiative also reflects the conviction that the progress of Northeast India is integral to India’s national development, democratic strength and collective prosperity. It places the people of Northeast India at the heart of its intellectual enquiry, recognising their voices, indigenous knowledge, lived experiences and aspirations as essential to shaping responsive policies, equitable development and a more inclusive national future. The proposed volume aims to contribute to wider scholarly and policy discussions on democratic participation, regional development and the future of Northeast India.
