Ukhrul, May 23, 2026: The Government of Manipur has ordered the transfer and posting of several Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers with immediate effect, including the transfer of Ukhrul Deputy Commissioner Shri Asish Das, IAS, according to an official order issued by the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms (Personnel Division) on May 22, 2026.
As per the order, Shri Asish Das, IAS, who was serving as the Deputy Commissioner of Ukhrul, has been transferred and posted as Joint Secretary (Home), Government of Manipur.
Meanwhile, Shri Uppuluri Chaitanya, IAS, presently serving as the Deputy Commissioner of Kakching, has been appointed as the new Deputy Commissioner of Ukhrul.
In another reshuffle, Ms. Angeline Renita R, IAS, who was serving as Joint Secretary (Home) and Project Director/MACS, has been transferred and posted as the Deputy Commissioner of Kakching.
The transfer order, issued in public interest, stated that the postings would take effect immediately and remain in force until further orders.
The notification was issued with the concurrence of the Election Commission of India (ECI) conveyed through its communication dated May 22, 2026.
The order was issued by Bidyaram Ayekpam, Joint Secretary (DP), Government of Manipur, in the name of the Governor of Manipur.
