Langdang Four-Wheeler Association Undertakes Road Repair Along NH-202
Ukhrul, September 12, 2026: Members of the Langdang Four-Wheeler Association carried out road repair works along National Highway-202 (NH-202) from Langdang Central Jail to Langdang Ngaphan on September 12, 2026, in response to the deteriorating condition of the road.
The repair work was undertaken after the road was severely affected by heavy rainfall, which caused significant damage and made movement difficult for vehicles and commuters.
According to the association, the stretch has remained in poor condition, with local residents and road users facing difficulties due to the damaged surface. The community members took the initiative to repair the road using locally available resources to improve connectivity and ensure safer movement along the route.
The association also expressed concern over the lack of timely repair and maintenance by the National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL), which is responsible for the development and maintenance of several national highway stretches in the region.
The voluntary effort by the Langdang Four-Wheeler Association highlights the difficulties faced by local communities when vital road infrastructure deteriorates, particularly during the monsoon season.
Residents and road users have urged the concerned authorities, including NHIDCL, to take immediate steps for proper and durable repair of the affected NH-202 stretch to prevent further deterioration and ensure smooth connectivity.
