Ukhrul, September 17, 2026: The month-long nationwide observance of “Seva Sankalp Abhiyan” was launched in Ukhrul on Thursday, with Deputy Commissioner Uppuluri Chaitanya inaugurating the campaign at the Mini Secretariat Complex, Hamleikhong.
The launch programme was attended by administrative secretaries, District Level Officers (DLOs) and staff members from various departments under the district administration.

The lighting of diyas was the main highlight of the programme, marking the formal beginning of the month-long observance in the district. The ceremony brought together officials from different departments to commemorate the campaign centred on public service and governance.
The Seva Sankalp Abhiyan is being observed nationwide to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years of public service as a public administrator. The campaign focuses on three key themes — Seva (service), Sushasan (good governance) and Antyodaya (welfare of the last person).
The campaign seeks to highlight the importance of public service and responsive governance, with particular emphasis on ensuring that government services and welfare measures reach people at the grassroots level.
The principle of Seva places emphasis on serving citizens, while Sushasan focuses on good and effective governance. Antyodaya, meanwhile, stresses the welfare and upliftment of the last person and those at the margins of society.
The participation of officials and staff from different departments at the Ukhrul launch reflected the involvement of the district administration in the nationwide observance. The month-long campaign is expected to provide a platform to reinforce the importance of public-oriented administration and the delivery of government services to the people.
With the launch of the campaign, the district administration has joined the nationwide observance of Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, which will continue throughout the month with its focus on service, good governance and welfare-oriented administration.
