Ukhrul, August 24, 2026: Students looking to pursue higher education or continue their schooling through flexible learning opportunities have received an extended window to enrol in various programmes offered through the Sentinel College Study Centre.
The study centre is offering courses under both the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) and the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), providing students with opportunities to pursue their studies through open and flexible education systems.
Under IGNOU, admissions for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes have been extended until August 31, 2026. The courses currently available at the Sentinel College Study Centre include B.A. General, B.A. Honours and M.A. programmes.
The admission amount for the B.A. General programme is Rs. 3,200, while students seeking admission to the B.A. Honours programme will have to pay Rs. 6,200. For the M.A. programme, the admission amount is Rs. 8,900.
The extended deadline is expected to provide an opportunity for students who could not complete their admission process within the earlier schedule to enrol in their preferred programme before the final date.
For students seeking school-level education through the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), admissions have also been extended. The last date for admission has been fixed for September 10, 2026.
NIOS courses available at the Sentinel College Study Centre include Class X and Class XII, with students at the Class XII level able to choose from Arts, Science and Commerce streams.
The course fee, without late fee, is Rs. 7,500 for Class X, while the fee for Class XII Arts and Commerce is Rs. 8,500. For Class XII Science, the course fee is Rs. 9,000.
The availability of NIOS programmes offers an alternative pathway for students who wish to continue or complete their school education through an open schooling system while having greater flexibility in managing their studies.
