Ukhrul, August 30: Seven athletes from Royal Gymnasium, Ukhrul, have been selected to represent Manipur at the 2nd Mr. North East India Bodybuilding and Physique Championship 2026, scheduled to be held at Kohima, Nagaland, from September 11 to 13.
The selection was made following a trial conducted by the All Manipur Body Builders Association (AMMBA) on August 30.
The selected athletes from Royal Gymnasium, Ukhrul, are M. Pihimas in the 55 kg category; Worthan Lunglo and Lungreishim Kasar in the 60 kg category; Mishap Khapai and Ngashingpam Ragui in the 65 kg category; and Phila Yangya and Thuiling Muviah in the Women’s Model Physique category.
The athletes will compete in different weight categories at the championship, where bodybuilders and physique athletes from across the North Eastern region are expected to participate.
The selection of seven athletes from Royal Gymnasium is a significant achievement for Ukhrul’s fitness and bodybuilding community, reflecting the growing presence of local athletes in competitive bodybuilding at the regional level.
