Churachandpur, May 27, 2026: In a significant counter-insurgency operation, security forces recovered a large cache of arms, explosives, ammunition, and communication equipment from the forest area of Hengkot village under Churachandpur Police Station in Churachandpur district on May 26, 2026.
According to security sources, the recovery was made during a search and area domination operation carried out in the forested region of Hengkot village based on specific intelligence inputs regarding the presence of hidden weapons and explosive materials.

During the operation, the security forces recovered a wide range of sophisticated and country-made weapons along with explosive devices and tactical gear. The recovered items include:
- 01 (one) MK-II rifle with magazine,
- 01 (one) AK-47 rifle with two magazines,
- 01 (one) .303 rifle with magazine,
- 01 (one) 12 bore rifle,
- 01 (one) country-made .22 rifle with magazine,
- 01 (one) country-made 12 bore rifle,
- 01 (one) country-made .22 sniper rifle,
- 02 (two) SBML guns,
- 01 (one) SBBL gun,
- 13 (thirteen) empty 12 bore cartridges,
- 03 (three) live 12 bore rounds,
- 05 (five) Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs),
- 02 (two) wireless handsets,
- 01 (one) country-made Lathod launcher,
- 02 (two) magazine pouches,
- 02 (two) pairs of camouflage jungle boots, and
- 01 (one) camouflage hat.
Security personnel safely secured the explosive materials following standard operating procedures to prevent any untoward incident. The recovered arms and other materials have been seized for further investigation.
Officials stated that intensified search and combing operations are continuing across vulnerable and sensitive areas of the district to prevent unlawful activities and ensure peace and security in the region.
Further investigation is underway to identify the individuals or groups linked to the recovered arms cache and explosive materials.
