Ukhrul, June 10, 2026: The Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL) has extended its heartfelt congratulations to the leadership of the United Naga Council (UNC) for what it described as the successful and peaceful conclusion of a difficult and challenging crisis.
In a congratulatory message issued by TNL President Sword Vashum, the organization expressed gratitude to God and commended the UNC leadership for steering the situation toward a peaceful and honorable resolution. The statement described the outcome as a significant moment for the Naga people and praised the UNC’s patience, magnanimity, and foresight during the crisis.
TNL noted that the peaceful settlement of the issue stands in contrast to forces that thrive on conflict and violence. The organization remarked that those who resort to “savagery and barbarity” would view the peaceful conclusion of the episode with disappointment, while emphasizing that peace remains the highest aspiration for humanity.
The statement also criticized what it termed as the long-standing “divide and rule” approach adopted by authorities at various levels, alleging that such policies have contributed to recurring conflicts and instability. TNL urged those in positions of power to focus on the well-being of the people, particularly the vulnerable and marginalized sections of society.
Expressing optimism for the future, TNL stated that the resolution has provided a renewed sense of hope for the Naga people. The organization said the development demonstrated the strength of Christian values, patience, and unity in overcoming difficult circumstances.
Congratulating the UNC leadership, TNL said the peaceful closure of the crisis was achieved through wisdom, restraint, and commitment to the larger interests of the people. The organization further called upon all Nagas to embrace reconciliation, forgiveness, and unity.
The message concluded with prayers for continued peace and blessings upon the Naga community and its leaders.
