A delegation of Naga civil society organisations (CSOs), spearheaded by the Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL), on Wednesday visited Makhan Liangmai Naga village in Kangpokpi district to extend solidarity to the families of the six Liangmai Naga men who were abducted and later found murdered under brutal circumstances.
The solidarity programme was held at the village Baptist Church, drawing over a hundred participants, including village elders, community leaders, bereaved family members, and representatives from various Naga organisations.
During the visit, the delegation interacted with the grieving families and conveyed their heartfelt condolences over the tragic loss. As part of the support extended, the CSOs handed over financial assistance along with essential relief materials to the affected households.
Speaking at the gathering, the CSO leaders said the visit was not only to share the pain of the bereaved families but also to reaffirm the collective strength and unity of the Naga people during one of the darkest moments faced by the community.
They stressed that the killing of the six Liangmai Naga men was a tragedy that had shaken the conscience of the entire Naga society and called upon all Naga tribes to remain united in their pursuit of justice and truth.
The leaders further maintained that such incidents must strengthen the resolve of the Naga people to stand together against violence and injustice, while also ensuring that the voices of the victims’ families are not forgotten.
The visit is part of a broader effort by Naga civil society groups to provide moral and material support to the affected families and to collectively press for justice, accountability, and peace in the region.
The programme concluded with a solemn moment of silence in memory of the deceased, as participants prayed for peace, justice, and healing for the bereaved families and the larger Naga community.
