Ukhrul, June 17: In line with the state-wide initiative, Ukhrul district on Wednesday launched a three-day registration camp under the Jan Kalyan Shivir 2026, aimed at ensuring wider access to government welfare schemes and services for eligible beneficiaries.
The registration drive, which will continue till June 19, is being conducted simultaneously across all four sub-divisions of the district. The camps have been set up at DRDA Hall and Mini Secretariat Complex in Ukhrul headquarters, Ngahui Radio Complex in Ngahui village, Block Office, Jessami, and Lingchong Maiphai Camp Office at the Mini Secretariat Complex.

As part of the mega campaign, multiple departments implementing both Central and State government schemes have established registration counters to facilitate on-the-spot enrolment and awareness for the public.
Departments participating in the camp include PM-JAY/CMHT Ukhrul, Department of Social Welfare (DSW), MSDPCL, Agriculture, Fishery, Horticulture, Veterinary & Animal Husbandry, CAF & PD, State Bank of India, ICDS, District Industries Centre (DIC), and SDO/BDO offices, among others.
The initiative seeks to maximise coverage and achieve saturation of ongoing welfare schemes by reaching out directly to residents and helping them register for various benefits.
Deputy Commissioner of Ukhrul, Shri Uppuluri Chaitanya, IAS, inspected the registration counters at the Mini Secretariat Complex on the opening day and reviewed the arrangements put in place for the smooth conduct of the camp. Officials said the district administration is committed to ensuring that no eligible beneficiary is left out of the welfare net.
