Ukhrul, July 6, 2026:
The Consultative Meeting of the Wung Tangkhul National Workers was held at the WTR Office on 6th July 2026, with a total of 240 National Workers of the Wung Tangkhul Region attending the meeting.
The programme was organised under the Provisional Authority of WTR. It was moderated by Mr. W. Sayai, Kilonser. The meeting began with an opening hymn, followed by an opening prayer led by Qr. Tharawon Mawon, Chairperson of NSWON.
Capt. (Retd.) Samson Jajo, Kilonser, delivered the opening remarks, while the keynote address was given by Mr. Rh. Raising, MCL, Emissary to the Collective Leadership. Short speeches were also delivered by Maj. Gen. (Retd.) Ramkathing Varah, VC, MCL, Convener of the Provisional Authority, WTR, along with other senior leaders.
According to the circulation, the meeting was convened in view of the rapidly deteriorating and volatile situation in the Wung Tangkhul Region. After intensive deliberations on various issues concerning the region, the house unanimously adopted and reaffirmed its commitment to three key resolutions.
The meeting reaffirmed its commitment to the Naga National Principle, stating that it remains the immutable foundation of the Naga nation. The members present pledged to uphold and defend the principle at all costs.
The house also reaffirmed its support for the Framework Agreement of 3rd August 2015, signed between the Government of India and the National Socialist Council of Nagalim. The meeting resolved that the agreement remains the only viable and honourable foundation for bringing the Indo-Naga political negotiations to its logical conclusion.
In its third resolution, the meeting reaffirmed its trust, allegiance and confidence in the Collective Leadership of NSCN/GPRN.
