Imphal, August 28, 2026: Representatives of the Manipur Baptist Convention (MBC) met Deputy Chief Minister of Manipur, Shri Losii Dikho, at his office in the Civil Secretariat, Mantripukhri, on Friday and submitted a memorandum addressed to the Chief Minister, seeking justice for the six Liangmai Naga civilians killed on May 13, 2026.
The MBC delegation, led by Rev. Dr. Jolly Rimai, General Secretary, MBC, along with Rev. Jackson Sapunii, Youth and Education Secretary, and Rev. Dr. Molarhring, Peace and Development Director, apprised the Deputy Chief Minister of the difficulties faced by the bereaved families.
The Convention expressed serious concern over the prolonged delay in resolving the matter, stating that the mortal remains of the six victims remain at JNIMS, awaiting justice before their families can accord them a dignified burial.
The memorandum presented a three-point Charter of Demands, calling for immediate and direct justice, support for the bereaved families, and safe passage for the burial of the deceased.
The MBC also urged the State Government to act without further delay, address the grievances of the affected families, ensure justice for the victims and take decisive measures to prevent further escalation and restore peace and normalcy in Manipur.
Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho heard the concerns raised by the MBC representatives and assured the delegation that the matter would be looked into. He further assured that necessary government support and assistance would be extended to the affected families.
