Imphal, May 8: Amid the continuing security concerns and recent disturbances reported from different parts of Manipur, Chief Minister Y. Khemchand Singh on Thursday held a high-level meeting with senior officials of the Border Security Force (BSF) at the Secretariat in Imphal to review the prevailing law and order situation in the state.

According to a post shared by the Chief Minister on X, the meeting was attended by Shri Suvvender Kumar, Deputy Inspector General (DIG), BSF Koirengei, and Shri Pankaj Kumar, Commandant of the 64 Battalion BSF. During the discussion, the leaders reviewed the current security scenario and deliberated on measures to address emerging challenges arising from the recent disturbances affecting various regions of the state. The meeting reportedly focused on strengthening coordination among security agencies and ensuring a proactive response mechanism to prevent further escalation of violence and unrest.
The Chief Minister stated that the government remains firmly committed to maintaining peace, stability, and public safety across Manipur. He emphasized the importance of close cooperation between state authorities and central security forces in safeguarding civilians and restoring normalcy in sensitive and vulnerable areas. The interaction comes at a time when Manipur continues to witness sporadic tensions and security-related incidents in several districts, prompting heightened vigilance by both state and central forces. Officials are believed to be closely monitoring the situation while taking necessary steps to ensure law and order is maintained.
