Imphal, May 12: The Manipur Police on Tuesday issued a clarification regarding reports circulating on various social media platforms about the alleged burning of houses in Molnoi Kuki village on May 12, 2026, around 3 pm.
In an update shared on the official Manipur Police Facebook page, the police stated that Molnoi Kuki village is located inside Myanmar, approximately 2 kilometres from Border Pillar (BP) No. 113 in Kamjong district along the Indo-Myanmar border.
The police further clarified that the reported incident is not related to India and urged the public not to spread misinformation or unverified reports on social media.
The clarification comes amid heightened tensions and increased circulation of cross-border incident reports in border areas of Manipur.
