Senapati, August 24, 2026: The District Social Welfare Office, Senapati, has issued a public notice informing eligible beneficiaries about the Dr. Ambedkar Medical Aid Scheme (Revised-2026) being implemented by the Dr. Ambedkar Foundation (DAF), an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India.
Under the scheme, financial assistance is available for the treatment of serious and life-threatening diseases among eligible patients belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) communities, provided their annual family income does not exceed Rs. 5 lakh.
The scheme provides financial assistance up to specified maximum ceilings for various critical medical treatments. Beneficiaries undergoing heart surgery can receive assistance of up to Rs. 1.50 lakh, while kidney surgery/dialysis and kidney/organ transplantation are eligible for assistance of up to Rs. 3.50 lakh each.
For cancer treatment, including surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy, the maximum assistance is Rs. 2.50 lakh. Assistance of up to Rs. 2 lakh is available for brain surgery, while spinal surgery carries a maximum ceiling of Rs. 1.50 lakh. Other life-threatening diseases may also qualify for financial assistance of up to Rs. 2 lakh.
According to the notice issued by the District Social Welfare Officer, Senapati, eligible candidates may apply for medical aid by post using the prescribed application format. Applications may be submitted either in the prescribed printed format or drafted on plain paper in accordance with the prescribed proforma.
The application guidelines, prescribed forms and other details are available through the official Dr. Ambedkar Foundation website, doseje.gov.in.
The District Social Welfare Office, Senapati, has also urged eligible beneficiaries to approach the office for necessary guidance and assistance whenever required.
