Tamenglong, June 14: A deeply emotional farewell hymn echoed through the Convention Hall in Tamenglong during the condolence and candlelight vigil held in honour of the six Zeliangrong Naga victims — two pastors and four innocent civilians.
The hymn, “God Be With You,” was led by Rev. Namsuamdai Gonmei, Pastor of BBC, as mourners stood with candles in hand, offering prayers and paying tribute to the departed souls. The song became one of the most moving moments of the programme, with many attendees visibly overwhelmed with grief.

The vigil, organised by the Town Churches Union (TCU) and the Zeliangron Baptist Churches Council North East India (ZBCCNEI), drew church leaders, community elders, and residents from across Tamenglong.
Speakers at the gathering expressed condolences to the bereaved families and called for unity, peace, and justice, while prayers were offered for the victims and for healing among the people.
The candlelight vigil was part of the growing wave of solidarity gatherings being held across Naga-inhabited areas following the tragic killings, reflecting the community’s collective mourning and demand for justice.
