Tahamzam, June 27, 2026: The Tahamzam Youth Forum (TYF) has demanded immediate and decisive action from the Central and State Governments following what it described as a public acknowledgement by the President of the Kuki-Zo Council regarding the killing of six innocent Naga civilians.
In a press release issued on June 27, TYF stated that the reported acknowledgement had “removed every remaining doubt” regarding those responsible for the killings. The forum said the matter before the Government was no longer one of identification, but of urgent action.
TYF questioned why the perpetrators were still at large despite the alleged public acknowledgement. It asked why the Government had failed to arrest the militants and all individuals involved in what it termed one of the most barbaric crimes in recent history.
“How long will the Government continue to offer empty assurances while the victims’ families continue to wait for justice?” the forum asked, adding whether the life of a Naga held any value in the eyes of the Government.
The forum further alleged that continued inaction had strengthened the perception that armed elements involved in abduction, murder and terror activities could act with impunity while law-abiding citizens remained without justice or protection.
TYF said the Naga people had endured the pain with dignity despite immense suffering and repeated disappointments. However, it warned that continued silence should not be mistaken for acceptance.
“The Government must understand that history will not only judge those who committed this barbaric crime; it will also judge those who possessed both the authority and the responsibility to act, yet failed to do so,” the statement said.
Calling for an end to delays, TYF said the time for condolences had passed and the time for decisive action had arrived. The forum demanded justice for the victims and urged the Government to act without further delay.
