Ukhrul, July 2: The District Administration, Ukhrul, on Thursday formally launched the Viksit Bharat–Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission Gramin (VB-G RAM G) Act, 2025, formerly known as the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), 2005, at DRDA Hall, Mini Secretariat, Ukhrul headquarters.
The programme began with a welcome address by Shri Dinringam Kamei, SDO/BDO Ukhrul, who briefed the gathering on the objectives of the newly introduced VB-G RAM G scheme. This was followed by a detailed briefing on the provisions of the Act and its implementation modalities.
Addressing the gathering, Shri Uppuluri Chaitanya, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Ukhrul, highlighted the various services and benefits that people can avail themselves of through government schemes. He stated that, as responsible members of society, the people of Ukhrul have a duty to contribute towards the development of rural landscapes and rural infrastructure so that the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 can be achieved.
The gathering also witnessed the virtual national launch of VB-G RAM G. The programme was attended by Dr. Riamei Jangmei, MCS, SDC (HQ); Shri Yurreikan Hungyo, MCS, SDC (HQ); Shri Duna Duo, MCS, SDO Jessami; Shri Roland Ningshen, MCS, SDO Chingai, along with District Level Officers from various departments under the District Administration.
According to the release, the launch programme witnessed an impressive turnout of approximately 500 attendees, marking it as a successful district-level event.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Smt. Polly Makan, PD/ADM, Ukhrul.
