Ukhrul, August 13, 2026: A cleanliness drive was held at Ava Market and Community Circle (Gandhi Chowk), Phungreitang, Ukhrul, on Wednesday morning as part of an initiative aimed at promoting a cleaner and more responsible Ukhrul.
Organised under the banner “For Better Ukhrul”, the Cleanliness Drive was scheduled from 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM, bringing attention to the importance of maintaining cleanliness in public spaces and market areas.
The initiative reflects the growing need for collective responsibility in keeping Ukhrul’s public spaces clean, hygienic and environmentally friendly. Ava Market, being one of the town’s important commercial areas, was chosen as the venue for the cleanliness campaign.
The campaign carries the message “Rooted in Ukhrul, Working for Tomorrow,” highlighting a vision of building a cleaner and more sustainable town through community participation and responsible civic practices.
