Kamjong, May 18: Deputy Commissioner of Kamjong, L. N. Kashung, on Monday launched the nationwide week-long Information, Education and Communication (IEC) campaign titled “Jan Bhagidaari – Sabse Door, Sabse Pehle” at the DC Kamjong Camp Office located at 2nd MR Complex, Imphal.

The campaign, being conducted from May 18 to May 25 under the Government of India initiatives — Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA) and PM-JANMAN — seeks to strengthen last-mile delivery and ensure saturation of flagship welfare schemes among tribal populations living in remote and far-flung areas.
According to officials, the campaign focuses on multiple sectors including housing, drinking water, rural roads, electrification, healthcare, livelihood, skill development, education, tourism, animal husbandry and tribal welfare.
Addressing the gathering during the launch programme, L. N. Kashung stated that the campaign in Kamjong district will cover four blocks — Kamjong, Phungyar, Kasom Khullen and Sahamphung — encompassing a total of 27 villages.
He informed that saturation camps, health screening camps, plantation drives and Jan Sunwai programmes would be organised during the campaign period to facilitate greater access to government welfare schemes and services. The campaign is scheduled to conclude on May 25 with a debriefing and review meeting.
The Deputy Commissioner also stressed the importance of coordinated efforts among all concerned departments and stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of welfare schemes in remote tribal areas.

The launch programme was attended by ADM Kamjong District H. L. Jain; SDO Phungyar Nimmi A. Khamrang; SDO Kasom Khullen Rohini Kumar; Campaign Nodal Officer and SDC Kasom Khullen Orient Thansing, along with district-level officers, officials and staff of the district administration.
