Kamjong, May 25: Deputy Commissioner of Kamjong, Shri L. N. Kashung, IAS, on Monday held a debriefing meeting on the successful completion of the week-long Information, Education and Communication (IEC) campaign titled “Jan Bhagidaari – Sabse Door, Sabse Pehle”, implemented across Kamjong district under the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA) and PM-JANMAN initiative of the Government of India.
The campaign, which commenced on May 18 at the DC Kamjong Camp Office, 2nd MR Complex, Imphal, covered 20 villages across four blocks of the district and focused on strengthening last-mile delivery of government welfare schemes in remote tribal areas.
According to officials, the campaign witnessed extensive outreach activities including 12 Jan Sunwai (public hearing) programmes, nine health camps and 20 transect walks, mobilising around 500 participants from different parts of the district.

Speaking during the debriefing, Deputy Commissioner Shri L. N. Kashung, IAS stated that a total of 84 grievances and public issues were received during the Jan Sunwai programmes, of which 60 cases were resolved on the spot, reflecting the administration’s effort to ensure prompt grievance redressal and service delivery.
On the healthcare front, the district administration informed that 191 persons underwent medical screening during the campaign period. Health teams also administered 27 HPV vaccinations and nine routine immunisations aimed at improving preventive healthcare outreach among rural communities.
In addition, several public service initiatives were undertaken as part of the campaign. Officials distributed 28 pension forms, facilitated two biometric Aadhaar updations, and issued 212 certificates, including Scheduled Tribe (ST), domicile, income, Permanent Residence Certificate (PRC), and birth registration certificates, to beneficiaries.
The campaign also incorporated environmental awareness measures through plantation drives carried out in different subdivisions. As part of the initiative, 555 saplings were planted across the district to promote environmental conservation and community participation.
To ensure proper documentation and monitoring, the administration uploaded 113 photographs and two videos related to the campaign activities on the Adi Prasaran Portal, officials said.
Appreciating the coordinated efforts of all stakeholders, Deputy Commissioner L. N. Kashung lauded district officials, field-level functionaries, village authorities and local residents for their active cooperation in ensuring the successful implementation of the IEC campaign throughout Kamjong district.
The week-long outreach programme formed part of the Government of India’s broader effort to ensure service saturation, health outreach, livelihood visibility and awareness of flagship welfare schemes among tribal populations residing in remote and far-flung regions.
