Imphal, July 24: National People’s Party (NPP) National President and Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma arrived in Imphal on Friday on a two-day visit to attend the party’s annual convention in Manipur.
As part of the first day’s programme, Sangma inaugurated the NPP Manipur State Office at Mercy Lane, Mantripukhri, in the presence of party leaders, office bearers, MLAs, and supporters.
The inauguration was held ahead of the party’s annual convention, which is scheduled to take place on Saturday at the MSFDS Complex in Imphal.
Addressing party workers after inaugurating the office, Sangma described the new state office as an important milestone that would strengthen the party’s organisational base in Manipur. He congratulated the state unit for completing the office building on schedule and appreciated the efforts of party leaders and workers in establishing the facility.
In a statement following the inauguration, Sangma said he was “happy to be back at Imphal, Manipur, to inaugurate our new party office, an important step in strengthening our mission and deepening our connect with the people.”
He also said he held detailed consultations with the party’s office bearers, MLAs and functionaries to review the party’s work, discuss key priorities and chart the way forward with renewed commitment and unity.
“Together, we remain dedicated to serving the people of Manipur and work with its people for peace and prosperity of the state,” Sangma said.
Calling on party members to remain committed to the NPP’s vision, Sangma urged them to continue strengthening the organisation and expanding its reach across Manipur.
The two-day visit will culminate with the party’s annual convention, where organisational matters and strategies for the party’s future in the state are expected to be discussed.
