Ukhrul, July 24: Raphei Katamnao Long (RKL), the Raphei Students’ Union, has issued a public notice announcing that repair and maintenance work will be carried out along the Jessami–Ukhrul stretch of National Highway-202 from July 28 to August 5, 2026.
According to the notice, the movement of heavy vehicles exceeding 10 tonnes will be strictly prohibited on the route during the maintenance period. The restriction has been imposed to facilitate the smooth execution of repair works, ensure public safety, and enable maintenance teams to complete the project efficiently.
RKL stated that the temporary measure aims to minimize inconvenience to commuters while improving road conditions, safety, and connectivity along the important highway.
The students’ union has appealed to transport operators, vehicle owners, and the general public to cooperate with the authorities and adhere to the restriction to ensure the timely completion of the repair work.
Expressing regret over the temporary inconvenience, RKL sought the understanding and support of all stakeholders, emphasizing that the project will benefit the entire community through improved road infrastructure.
The public notice was issued on July 24, 2026, by the Public and Relation Secretary, Raphei Katamnao Long (RKL).
