Ukhrul, June 5: The Ministry of Information and Publicity (MIP) of the Government of the People’s Republic of Nagalim (GPRN) has strongly rejected allegations made by Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) in its press statement dated June 5, 2026, describing the accusations as a deliberate attempt to spread misinformation and manipulate public perception regarding the ongoing conflict in Manipur.
In a strongly worded rebuttal issued on Friday, the MIP stated that the allegations contained in KIM’s statement were “categorically rejected in their entirety,” asserting that they were based on fabrication, distortion of facts, and misinformation rather than credible evidence. The ministry alleged that KIM has repeatedly employed such tactics to mislead the public and shape narratives surrounding the prevailing situation in the state.
The statement further accused KIM of attempting to exploit the suffering of those who have been killed or injured in recent incidents for political advantage. According to the MIP, such actions reveal what it termed a “cynical agenda” aimed at capitalizing on human tragedy to further political objectives. The ministry claimed that these accusations were not only baseless but also represented a recurring pattern of propaganda intended to influence public opinion.
The NSCN/GPRN maintained that the allegations lacked any credible supporting evidence and argued that similar claims made in the past had been exposed as false. It stated that repeated efforts to advance narratives through unverified accusations do not contribute to truth, justice, or peace, but instead deepen mistrust among communities and fuel further divisions in an already volatile environment.
Expressing concern over what it called the “reckless dissemination of misinformation,” the MIP urged Kuki Inpi Manipur and its affiliated organizations to immediately stop circulating unsubstantiated allegations. The statement warned that the repeated use of false narratives for political and strategic purposes is irresponsible and undermines efforts aimed at restoring normalcy and fostering meaningful dialogue among affected communities.
The ministry also appealed to the public, media houses, and relevant authorities to exercise caution and critically evaluate such claims before accepting them as fact. It emphasized the need for impartial investigations and reliance on verified information rather than politically motivated narratives. According to the statement, truth cannot be manufactured, and propaganda cannot replace factual evidence.
Reiterating its position, the NSCN/GPRN asserted that falsehoods do not become facts simply through repetition. It called for an end to what it described as deceptive practices and urged all stakeholders to uphold responsibility, integrity, and respect for the truth while addressing issues arising from the ongoing conflict.
