Imphal, June 1: Shri Mukesh Singh formally assumed charge as the Director General of Police (DGP), Manipur, on Monday.
On his arrival at the Police Headquarters (PHQ) in Mantripukhri, the new DGP was accorded a ceremonial Guard of Honour by Manipur Police officers and personnel.
Following the reception, Shri Mukesh Singh held a brief introductory meeting with senior police officers at the PHQ. During the interaction, he outlined key policing priorities and stressed the need for maintaining the highest standards of professionalism in the force.
The DGP underscored the importance of upholding the Constitution of India and the Rule of Law while discharging policing responsibilities. He also highlighted the need for effective coordination with sister security agencies and emphasized impartiality and neutrality in serving the public.
Senior officers of Manipur Police were present during the occasion and extended their support to the new police chief as he took charge of the state’s police administration.
Mukesh Singh’s assumption of office comes at a crucial time as Manipur continues to focus on strengthening law and order, enhancing public confidence in policing, and ensuring coordinated security efforts across the state.
