Senapati, May 18: The Senapati District Students’ Association (SDSA) has issued a strong response to what it described as “false allegations, narrations and accusations” made by certain individuals and organizations regarding the recent detention of Kuki individuals at Senapati district.
In a statement issued to the media, the association stated that various misleading narratives have been circulated on social media and through public platforms with the intention of tarnishing the image of the organization and the people of Senapati district.
The SDSA clarified that the incident was not motivated by communal hatred or targeted discrimination, but was carried out in response to prevailing security concerns and public safety issues in the region. The association maintained that the matter had been handled responsibly and within the framework of maintaining peace and order.
The student body further condemned what it termed as attempts by certain groups to politicize the issue and spread misinformation among communities. SDSA appealed to the public and civil society organizations not to believe unverified reports or provocative statements capable of creating further tension in the state.
Reaffirming its commitment to peace, unity and communal harmony, the association urged all communities to maintain restraint and work collectively towards restoring normalcy and mutual understanding in Manipur.
The SDSA also appealed to the authorities and responsible organizations to verify facts before making public accusations, stating that irresponsible allegations could damage ongoing peace-building efforts and create unnecessary misunderstanding among different communities.
