Imphal, May 29: The Tribal Youth Council Manipur (TYCM) has urged the Government of Manipur to ensure the availability of online application systems for all government recruitments, citing the ongoing unrest and transportation challenges in the hill districts that are severely affecting job-seeking youths.
In a press communiqué issued on May 29, TYCM stated that it had submitted a representation to the Chief Secretary of Manipur and the Secretary of the Manipur Legislative Assembly, seeking immediate instructions to all concerned departments and offices to make recruitment application forms available through online mode and enable online submission for all recruitments under Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), statutory bodies, and government departments. The council also appealed for online entry of Employment Sponsoring Numbers and a minimum period of 30 days for application submissions.

According to TYCM, the prevailing volatile situation in Manipur, particularly in the hill districts, has disrupted vehicular transportation, making it difficult for job aspirants to travel, obtain application forms, and submit them within stipulated deadlines. The council pointed out that most government departments continue to rely on offline systems, forcing applicants to stand in long queues and incur unnecessary travel expenses and time wastage.
The organisation further highlighted the inconvenience caused by the offline process for entering Employment Sponsoring Numbers through District Employment Exchange Offices. TYCM maintained that shifting this process online would significantly ease difficulties faced by job seekers across the state, especially those residing in remote areas.
Additionally, TYCM expressed concern over delays in obtaining essential documents such as Income Certificates, Caste Certificates, Residential Certificates, and Domicile Certificates, alleging that the approval process is unnecessarily lengthy and burdened with excessive documentation, including village authority recommendations and Lambu verification. The council argued that Aadhaar, already digitally verified through the UIDAI portal, should be accepted as a sufficient proof document to simplify the process and reduce delays.
Stating that India is now in an advanced digital era, TYCM criticized the continued dependence on offline administrative systems in Manipur, describing it as a sign of lagging development compared to other states. The council asserted that, on behalf of the tribal communities of Manipur, it is raising the concerns of tribal youths and demanding the simplification and digitization of recruitment procedures for job seekers across the state.
