Ukhrul, May 18, 2026 — In a concerted effort to promote environmental sustainability and public health awareness, the district administration of Ukhrul conducted extensive saturation and plantation drives under the IEC campaign titled “Sabse Door, Sabse Pehle, 2026.”

The initiative, led by the District Forest Officer and the Chief Medical Officer, Ukhrul, focused on strengthening ecological conservation and healthcare awareness through active community participation. Thousands of saplings were planted across different locations in the district as part of the plantation drive aimed at enhancing the district’s green cover.
Alongside the environmental activities, free health camps were also organized in several villages across the district. Managed by the office of the Chief Medical Officer, the camps provided essential medical check-ups, free consultations, distribution of basic medicines, and health awareness sessions for local residents.
The IEC campaign seeks to reach even the remotest parts of the district, ensuring that healthcare and environmental initiatives benefit every section of society. District officials reaffirmed their commitment to continuing such programmes and stressed the importance of community participation in achieving sustainable development goals.
Residents welcomed the dual focus on health and environmental protection, noting that such initiatives contribute significantly to improving both quality of life and ecological balance in the region.
According to officials, the campaign witnessed an encouraging response with approximately 1,217 participants taking part across the district. The district administration also stated that similar campaigns and community engagement activities will continue in the future as part of its commitment towards building a healthier and greener Ukhrul.
