Kohima, June 11: The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has strongly condemned the abduction, torture, and brutal killing of six innocent Naga men from Konsakhul Naga Village, whose mortal remains were recovered on June 10 after nearly a month of uncertainty.
In a condemnation statement issued from Oking, Kohima, the federation expressed “profound outrage” over what it described as a horrific and inhuman act allegedly carried out after the victims were abducted from Leilon Vaiphei village on May 13 by Kuki militants, village volunteers, and leaders.
The NSF stated that the prolonged torture and the mutilated condition of the recovered bodies reveal a level of brutality that “strikes at the very core of shared humanity,” terming the incident as one of the darkest manifestations of human cruelty.

Calling the desecration of the victims’ bodies a deliberate attempt to terrorize and dehumanize the Naga community, the federation said such acts cannot be justified under any ethnic, political, or territorial conflict.
The federation further said the incident reflects the dangerous normalization of violence and impunity that has engulfed Manipur over the past three years, highlighting repeated cases of abduction, torture, and killings, while questioning the accountability of authorities.
Holding the Kuki militants under the Suspension of Operations (SoO) agreement with the Government of India directly responsible, the NSF also questioned both the Government of India and the Government of Manipur for what it termed as failure to safeguard innocent civilians despite the heavy presence of security forces.
“The peace cannot prevail until truth is acknowledged and perpetrators are held accountable,” the federation asserted, while extending condolences to the bereaved families and the people of Konsakhul village.
The NSF has demanded an immediate and time-bound investigation into the killings, prosecution of all those involved, and the abrogation of the SoO regime, alleging that it has enabled repeated atrocities and gross human rights violations with impunity.
Reiterating its solidarity with the affected families and the wider Naga community, the federation said it would continue to stand firm in the pursuit of justice until the culprits are brought to book.
